Substation equipment failure causes power outage

HUDSONVILLE, Mich. — Equipment at a substation failed just before 4 p.m. Wednesday, taking out power for 188 Consumers Energy customers.

The outage effects customers between Hudsonville and Zealand Township, and extends from just north of Chicago Drive to near the border between Allegan and Ottawa Counties.

Roger Morgenstern with Consumers Energy says power should be restored around 8 p.m. Wednesday.

They are also investigating another outage in the Walker area and will work to restore power there.

You can check the status of the outages here.
